we’re thrilled to announce the opening of a Babylon Vintage, a new collaboration / vintage concept shop at 3636 N. Mississippi. we are sharing space with Beacon Sound, and The Practice Space gallery and partnering with our friend and fellow fashion veteran, Zachary Augustine to add a unique edit of vintage and independent designers to the neighborhood. stay tuned as we evolve and integrate new designer collections, and one of a kind vintage while hosting residencies from inspiring designers and editors in our community…follow along on instagram here!
Special thanks to Andy Parker and WAVES for performing live this past Friday night in the shop. We are in love with WAVES and can’t wait to hear more. Here is a tiny sample of his dreamy set from the other night – we wish we had captured more of his sick drum beats…alas, next time
you may already be aware that we are big fans of the seventies and early eighties jamaican roots, reggae and dancehall music. tonight we are heading out to see Black Uhuru play live in Portland, OR at the star theater. here’s a look at some of our favorite looks from their most famous lineup featuring Ducky Simpson, Puma Jones and Mykal Rose. they were one of the most stylish reggae groups from that era. enjoy!
my good friend sunny was visiting from san francisco on tour with his band carletta sue kay
they played at valentine’s in portland and it was one of the best shows i’ve seen in a while (right up there with redd kross!) i will add some very low res video soon.
